From the bustling Pike Place Market to the tranquil waters of Puget Sound, each corner of the city has something special to offer. So, grab your favorite sweater, indulge in some hot coffee, and get ready for three days of discovery and delight in this Pacific Northwest gem.
Day 1: Maximizing Arrival day
❖ Visit Pike Place Market during sunset
o While you walk around enjoying the views, be sure to rent the scooters. This will be the game changer for sightseeing before it gets too late!
❖ Stop by the very first Starbucks
o For all the starbucks lovers and coffee lovers, this cute little spot is home to the first Starbucks which opened in 1971! Snap a picture but don’t get too distracted! We have another Starbs spot for you!
❖ See the Space Needle at night
o Scoot scoot your way to the Space Needle and stop for photo ops along the way! We took some great shots at Broad ST and Denny Way where no one was around! We moved closer for some fun selfies with the space needle and walked around Seattle Center.
❖ Grab a coffee at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room
o Or order the espresso martini flight accompanied by your favorite pastry! The Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle is a coffee lover's paradise, offering a unique and immersive experience. Coffee lovers can witness the art of coffee roasting, savor exclusive small-batch coffees, and explore an array of brewing methods.
Day 2: Let’s get outdoors
❖ Hiking Franklin Falls in Snoqualmie Pass
o This hike was breathtaking and worth a full day’s hike due to weather! The actual trail is no more than a 3-mile loop but if traveling in the snowy season, don’t be surprised if you log in close to 9-miles! Either way, be sure to take snacks, plenty of water, and the proper footwear!
Day 3: Self-guided Tourist mode
❖ Enjoy a freshly baked pastry at Piroshky Piroshky!
o The aroma of freshly baked treats wafts through the air, drawing locals and visitors alike to savor the authentic taste of these delectable creations in the bustling market setting. Since 1992, this family-owned establishment has been crafting flaky, hand-held pies filled with an array of savory and sweet fillings, offering a delicious fusion of flavors.
❖ Walk around Pike Place Market
o Shopping at Pike Place Market is a sensory delight, where the vibrant stalls overflow with locally sourced produce, artisan crafts, and unique treasures. From the iconic fishmongers tossing fresh catches to the charming boutiques and eclectic galleries, the market provides a rich tapestry of Seattle's diverse offerings, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike.
❖ See the famous Gum Wall
o A quirky and colorful testament to spontaneous creativity. Adorning the walls of Post Alley with layers upon layers of chewed gum, this unique attraction serves as a fascinating and ever-evolving public art installation, where visitors can leave their mark in a sticky, vibrant tapestry.
❖ Lunch at Pike Place Chowder
o Indulging in lunch at Pike Place Chowder is a flavorful experience, with each spoonful of their award-winning chowders transporting taste buds to seafood bliss. We visited the Pacific Palace location and ordered their creamy clam chowder in a bread bowl and salmon fish and chips. 10/10 recommend!
❖ Visit the Seattle Aquarium
o A visit to the Seattle Aquarium is a mesmerizing exploration of marine life against the stunning backdrop of Puget Sound. With captivating exhibits featuring sea otters, playful seals, and vibrant underwater ecosystems, this waterfront attraction provides a delightful and educational experience for the whole family!
❖ Whale Watching at Alki Beach Park
o Depending on the season, its common to see whales at this beach! With the downtown in the back, walking this beach is a wonderful stroll! We didn’t get to see whales but we had a fun interaction with the friendliest sea lion! Such a perfect moment as the curious pup followed us up and down the beach!
❖ Dinner at Anthony’s Restaurant
o Dining at Anthony's Restaurant is a culinary delight, where the freshest Pacific Northwest seafood meets panoramic waterfront views. Thanks to my family’s recommendation, this was the perfect place to close out a busy day of exploring the city.
Day 4: Departure day
❖ Lounge break before boarding
o Taking advantage of the Amex Platinum lounge perk prior to boarding a flight enhances the pre-flight experience with its upscale amenities and inviting atmosphere. We got to enjoy a lovely breakfast and complimentary drinks prior to boarding our return flight!
